Satellite-Timing Phase Detector

The ETCR 1500B is a high-voltage phase detector built for electricians and utility crews who must verify phase relationships on overhead lines and switchgear. It covers a continuous range from 10 V up to 500 kV and uses satellite timing to operate where conventional detectors cannot reach.

Distance Limits by Mode

Ordinary phase detection works up to 200 m, while satellite-timed detection extends the practical range to 5000 m, enabling basement, tunnel and long-span measurements. For any line above 35 kV the instrument must be used in non-contact mode, with the probe brought gradually toward the conductor.

Timing Accuracy

The receiver locks to six GNSS constellations simultaneously and achieves a timing accuracy better than 20 ns, which is the single figure that determines whether phase comparison across distant points will be reliable.

Questions about this item

What is the lowest voltage line this detector can phase-check?

The instrument automatically phases lines from 10 V up to 500 kV, so even very low-voltage circuits are covered.

How accurate is the satellite timing when the detector is used underground or at long range?

Timing accuracy is better than 20 ns, allowing reliable phase detection in basements, mines and at distances up to 5000 m.

When must I switch to non-contact mode and what distance does the normal mode cover?

Non-contact mode is required above 35 kV; normal contact phase detection works up to 200 m.
