Split-core detector measures ground resistance from 0.010 to 100 ohms without disconnecting leads or using auxiliary electrodes
The ETCR 2800KB is a split-core detector built for electricians who need to monitor grounding systems without interrupting service. It measures earth resistance on live installations and carries Exia BT3Ga explosion-proof certification CE18.2332X for hazardous-area use. Rain and dust proof construction allows permanent outdoor deployment.
The single specification that decides fit is the 0.010~100O measurement span, which covers low-resistance bonding checks through to general grounding verification. No auxiliary electrodes are required and the grounding down lead stays connected during tests. Network connectivity enables real-time detection and remote monitoring of the grounding circuit.
Under continuous load the detector maintains its stated accuracy while exposed to weather, thanks to the sealed split-core housing and certified explosion-proof rating. It is not suited for buyers who need an integrated display for standalone readings without a network backend, nor for applications requiring a measurement range beyond 100 ohm. Batteries are not supplied and must be sourced locally.

It lets you read the true earth resistance of the installed grounding down-lead without disconnecting it or driving auxiliary electrodes.
The jaws must fully close around a single conductor, so the maximum cable or bus-bar diameter that fits the aperture sets the practical upper limit.
The unit is rain- and dust-proof for outdoor installation, but you must allow enough space for the hinged jaws to open and clamp onto the down-lead.
