Tests leakage protector current from 5mA to 1000mA and operating time up to 999ms with a 7-inch colour touch screen
The ETCR 8600B tests leakage initiating current from 5 to 1000mA across 16 grades and measures operating time up to 999ms. It also reads line AC voltage up to 600V and works with relay protection switches below 250V. An 854 by 480 colour touch screen shows results and internal wiring diagrams. The unit is built for electricians who need on-site verification of residual current devices.
Electricians commissioning or maintaining leakage protectors will find the current steps and timing range match standard test procedures. The touch interface and wiring guidance speed up repetitive checks. Technicians who only need basic voltage presence or continuity should look at simpler instruments. Users requiring automated data logging or PC software integration will not find those features here.
The tester steps through 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 500, 600 and 1000mA. This fixed sequence determines whether the instrument covers the trip thresholds specified for the protectors under test. If the application demands intermediate values or a different progression, this model will not meet the requirement.

The tester operates on line AC voltage from 0 to 600 V, so the circuit under test must be energised within that range for leakage current measurements.
Yes, the instrument includes 15 mA as one of its 16 selectable test currents from 5 mA to 1000 mA, so the same connections cover that older device.
A valid trip-time appears on the 854 × 480 TFT touch screen as a value between 0 and 999 ms; if the protector does not trip the screen shows the maximum indication.
