Bi-directional USB 3.0 switch lets two computers share one peripheral or one computer toggle between two devices at up to 5 Gbps
This new Explus-C KVM switch lets two computers share one USB 3.0 peripheral or lets one computer switch between two USB devices. It handles printers, scanners, card readers, keyboards, mice and flash drives. No external power supply is required and no driver installation is needed. A blue LED shows which computer is active.
The switch is built for offices, classrooms and meeting rooms where a single USB 3.0 device must move between two Windows, Mac, Linux or Chrome OS machines. It does not carry video signals, so buyers who need to share a monitor, keyboard and mouse together should look at a full KVM with video ports. It also cannot connect more than two computers at once.
The single specification that decides fit is the 5 Gbps USB 3.0 interface, which is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. This bandwidth supports fast peripheral transfers while the bi-directional design handles both 1-in-2-out and 2-in-1-out scenarios.

No external power supply is required; the unit is bus-powered and has no fan, so it adds negligible heat and draws only the small current needed for the blue LED indicator.
You need three USB 3.0 cables — one from each computer to the switch and one from the switch to the shared device — because no cables are included in the box.
Yes, the switch is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices, so legacy peripherals operate normally at their rated speeds while the 3.0 port runs up to 5 Gbps.
