A compact USB 3.0 switch lets you toggle one device or hub between two computers with a single button press
This compact KVM switch lets a single USB 3.0 device or hub move between two computers with one button press. It suits home-office users who share a keyboard, mouse or dock across a desktop and a laptop. The unit needs no drivers for the switching logic itself. Buyers who want to share USB-C or Thunderbolt docks with Power Delivery or Alt Mode video cannot use this switch.
The package includes two 1m cables to link the switch to each computer. LED lights show which system currently controls the connected peripherals. A powered USB hub or docking station with a USB graphics adapter can be attached to create an all-USB KVM setup. Peripheral cables must stay under 1.8m to maintain reliable operation.
The switch works immediately on any USB-enabled computer without installing software for the switching function. Attached keyboards, mice or graphics adapters still need their own drivers on each host. Problems usually arise when users connect USB-C or Thunderbolt docks that require Power Delivery or Alt Mode, which the switch does not support. Exceeding the 1.8m peripheral cable length can also cause unstable connections.

The switch uses a solid-state USB 3.0 data path with a mechanical push button rated for typical office use; no user-serviceable relays or contacts are inside.
The 1.8 m maximum peripheral cable length is the primary constraint; exceeding it can cause signal drop-outs before any thermal or bandwidth ceiling appears.
The compact enclosure has no fan and draws negligible power, so it remains cool and silent during continuous operation.
