Exact-Fit Activated Carbon Filter

The Extract-All 987-RCM is a single activated-carbon panel measuring 12 inches by 12 inches with a two-inch depth. It targets mercury vapour, odours and volatile organic compounds rather than particulate dust. The vapour-carbon media layer adsorbs gaseous contaminants in recirculating indoor air systems.

For Gaseous Contaminant Control Only

This filter suits maintenance teams needing to remove chemical vapours and smells from workshops, laboratories or vehicle cabins. It will not capture dust, pollen or smoke particles, so buyers who need particulate filtration should look at a different media type. There is no efficiency rating provided for comparison.

Drops Into 12-by-12 Housings

The nominal dimensions match Grainger part numbers 56MW28 and 56MW29 as well as manufacturer models 987-DCA1 and 987-DCA2. The rigid frame slides into existing filter tracks without modification. One filter per pack keeps spares simple for scheduled change-outs.

Questions about this item

What compatible Grainger part numbers must my system already use for the 987-RCM filter to fit?

The 987-RCM filter is compatible with Grainger part numbers 56MW28 and 56MW29, so your existing housing should match one of those references.

Will the 987-RCM filter work in housings built for the older 987-DCA1 or 987-DCA2 models?

Yes, the manufacturer lists the 987-DCA1 and 987-DCA2 as compatible model numbers, so the 987-RCM can replace filters in those older housings.

How can I confirm the 987-RCM is removing mercury vapor, odors and VOCs after installation?

The activated-carbon vapor-carbon media targets mercury vapor, odors and VOCs; a noticeable reduction in those contaminants indicates the filter is performing as intended.
