The Extreme Networks 10502 is a new SFP28 transceiver built for 25 Gigabit Ethernet links. It connects to the ExtremeCloud E3120 platform to expand high-speed connectivity. Network teams use it to add short-reach fibre ports without replacing the switch chassis.

850 nm multi-mode reach up to 328 ft

The module operates at 850 nm over LC multi-mode fibre and supports links up to 328 ft. This distance and wavelength combination is the deciding factor when planning rack-to-rack or row-to-row runs inside the data centre. Verify that your patch cables and patch panels match these exact parameters before ordering.

Low power draw in standard operation

The transceiver is engineered for low power consumption while delivering a 25 Gb/s data rate. In normal use it runs cool and quiet inside the host switch, adding minimal thermal load to the chassis airflow. No external power adapter or additional cooling is required beyond the switch's own fan system.
