  • Expands uplink capacity for high-density access deployments
  • Purpose-built for Catalyst 9300 series compatibility

Network module for Catalyst 9300 switches

This expansion module adds eight 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplink ports to a Catalyst 9300 Series Switch. It is designed for network administrators who need to increase high-speed connectivity on compatible chassis without replacing the entire switch.

SFP+ uplink constraint

The module provides eight ports that accept SFP+ transceivers for 10 Gigabit links. Practical reach and media type depend entirely on the transceiver modules installed, which are not included with this unit. Total uplink bandwidth is limited to the eight ports provided by this module.

Upgrade from fixed uplink configurations

This module replaces the need for a switch with a fixed, lower-density uplink arrangement by adding modular 10 Gigabit capacity to an existing Catalyst 9300. The jump is worth it when current uplink ports are saturated or when fibre uplinks are required beyond the base switch configuration.

Questions about this item

Which uplink capacity matches a Catalyst 9300 switch that needs eight 10 Gigabit ports?

The C9300-NM-8X adds exactly eight 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplink ports to a compatible Catalyst 9300 Series switch.

What does the 10 Gigabit SFP+ label mean for actual throughput in a Catalyst 9300 chassis?

Each of the eight ports can carry up to 10 Gbps of Ethernet traffic when populated with a compatible SFP+ transceiver.

Which interface standard do the eight uplink ports use, and what speed does it cap at?

The module uses SFP+ interfaces, each limited to 10 Gbps line rate.
