16-port managed PoE switch

The Extreme Networks 5320-16P-4XE is a managed Ethernet switch with sixteen 10/100/1000BASE-T ports that deliver up to 30 W each under IEEE 802.3at. It is built for networks that need both data and power on a single cable for devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras. The unit also provides four 1/10 Gb SFP+ uplink ports, two of which serve as stacking ports.

Flexible uplinks and stacking

Four SFP+ ports give a choice of 1 Gb or 10 Gb fibre or direct-attach links for aggregation to the core. Two of those ports double as 10 Gb stacking interfaces so multiple 5320 switches can operate as a single logical device. A serial console port and a USB-A port are available for local management and firmware tasks. The switch runs either Switch Engine (EXOS) or Fabric Engine (VOSS) and onboards to ExtremeCloud IQ through zero-touch provisioning.

Sustained forwarding capacity

The 5320-16P-4XE supplies an aggregated switching bandwidth of 112 Gbps and a maximum frame forwarding rate of 83.3 Mpps. MACsec capability on both the copper and SFP+ ports provides line-rate encryption without reducing throughput. PoE power is allocated dynamically across the sixteen ports, allowing the full complement of powered devices to operate continuously within the switch’s power budget.

Questions about this item

How many 30 W PoE ports can the 5320-16P-4XE power at once?

All sixteen 10/100/1000BASE-T ports support IEEE 802.3at at 30 W each, so every port can deliver full power simultaneously.

What is the fan noise level when the switch runs continuously?

The 5320-16P-4XE uses temperature-controlled fans that ramp up only when internal sensors detect sustained load, keeping idle noise low.

Which SFP+ transceivers must I already own for the four uplink ports?

The four SFP+ uplinks accept any 1 Gb or 10 Gb SFP+ module, so you need compatible 1/10G transceivers for each link you plan to use.
