24-port PoE+ switch with 8×10G SFP+

The Extreme Networks 5320-24P-8XE is a managed Layer 2 switch providing 24 Gigabit PoE+ ports and eight 10G SFP+ uplinks. It delivers a 370 W PoE budget to power access points, cameras and IP phones from a single rack-mountable unit. Network operators can choose between Switch Engine and Fabric Engine operating systems at boot or later.

208 Gbps aggregated bandwidth under sustained load

The switch fabric handles 208 Gbps of aggregated bandwidth with a maximum frame forwarding rate of 154.8 Mpps. A 32 K MAC table, 16 K IPv4 ARP entries and 8 K IPv4 routes support growing device counts without table exhaustion. Energy Efficient Ethernet reduces idle power while the 480 W maximum draw stays predictable for rack planning.

Replaces non-PoE or lower-uplink edge switches

Sites moving from non-PoE edge switches gain powered ports without separate injectors, while those on 1 Gb uplinks remove the uplink bottleneck with eight 10G SFP+ slots. The jump is worth it when PoE device density exceeds injector capacity or when aggregation traffic regularly saturates gigabit uplinks.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power does the 480 W maximum draw create when the 5320-24P-8XE runs 24/7?

The switch draws up to 480 W and delivers a 370 W PoE+ budget across its 24 ports, so plan for that heat load in a closed rack.

Which SFP+ modules must I already own to use the eight 10 GbE uplinks on the 5320-24P-8XE?

The eight uplink slots accept standard 1 GbE or 10 GbE SFP+ transceivers; you supply the modules that match your fibre or copper links.

Will the 5320-24P-8XE stack with my older 5320-24T-8XE units over the two 10 GbE stacking ports?

Yes, both models provide two 10 GbE stacking ports and share the 208 Gbps aggregated bandwidth, so they can join the same stack.
