Extreme Networks ML-2452-PNA7-01R server accessory

SKU CH-VRM7-5KQ0J MPN ML-2452-PNA7-01R

Dual-band outdoor panel antenna delivers 7 dBi at 2.4-2.5 GHz and 6.3 dBi at 4.9-5.25 GHz with N-Male connector for 802.11 a/b/g/n access points

  • Dual-band coverage for 2.4–2.5 GHz and 4.9–5.25 GHz networks
  • 7 dBi gain on 2.4 GHz band extends outdoor signal reach
  • 3 dBi gain on 5 GHz band improves high-frequency link quality
  • 9 dBi peak gain focuses energy for long-distance point-to-point use
  • N-Male connector ensures secure attachment to compatible access points

Dual-band outdoor antenna

The Extreme Networks ML-2452-PNA7-01R is a panel antenna built for outdoor wireless deployments. It supports dual-band operation on 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies and connects via an N-Male connector. The unit is designed for use with Brocade mobility access points.

Gain figures per band

The antenna delivers 7 dBi gain across the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz range and 6.3 dBi gain across the 4.9 to 5.25 GHz range. A 9 dBi figure is also referenced for one band. These values determine the directional reach and signal strength in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint links.

Compatibility and mounting checks

Verify that your access point or radio has an N-Female connector to match the N-Male interface. Confirm the device supports 802.11 a/b/g/n operation on both frequency ranges. Ensure the mounting location can accommodate a panel antenna and that local regulations permit outdoor use at these gain levels.

Questions about this item

Will the N-Male connector on the ML-2452-PNA7-01R antenna need periodic replacement?

The N-Male connector is a passive RF component with no moving parts; it does not require scheduled replacement under normal outdoor use.

What gain limit applies first when the antenna operates continuously at 2.4 GHz?

The panel is rated at 7 dBi for the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz band, and that gain figure is the fixed performance limit.

Does the ML-2452-PNA7-01R generate any noise, heat or draw power when mounted outdoors all day?

As a passive dual-band panel antenna it has no active electronics, so it produces no noise, no heat and consumes zero power.
