The Eyemax Magic U Series UVST MAGIC-U32-4M records 32 channels and supports HD-TVI, HD-CVI, EX-SDI, analogue composite and 960H cameras simultaneously. It also accepts up to eight IP cameras assigned to selected channels. A 2 TB drive is included for immediate storage.

Camera Resolution Limits by Signal Type

EX-SDI cameras are supported up to 4 MP while HD-TVI and HD-CVI cameras can reach 8 MP 4K resolution. Analogue composite and 960H inputs remain available for legacy devices. The recorder auto-detects the connected format on each channel.

Eight-Channel IP Camera Assignment Cap

A maximum of eight channels can be reassigned to IP cameras, limiting the number of network streams the recorder can handle. Buyers planning a fully IP-based installation or needing more than eight network channels should choose a dedicated NVR instead.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32-channel model with the 2 TB drive or add an external recorder for more cameras?

The recorder handles 32 channels internally and includes a 2 TB drive; it also accepts up to 8 IP cameras on selected channels if you need to expand beyond the coaxial inputs.

What does the 4K TVI support actually deliver on my monitors?

TVI cameras up to 4K can be recorded and viewed live, while EX-SDI cameras reach 4 MP; both feed the HDMI or VGA spot-out for multi-channel HD display.

How does the RS-485 port limit PTZ control in practice?

The RS-485 interface provides the standard serial link for pan-tilt-zoom cameras; the recorder also supports P2P remote access without router configuration for off-site control.
