8-Channel 4K PentaBrid Recorder

The Eyemax TVST-PVT8-8M08 is an 8-channel video recorder that supports TVI, CVI, AHD, IP and analog cameras. It records at up to 4K resolution using H.264 or H.265 compression. The unit ships with a 2 TB drive installed and is NDAA compliant for regulated environments.

SATA Storage and Interface Limits

Internal storage uses a single SATA port that accepts drives up to 8 TB. The recorder handles 8 coaxial channels plus 8 IP channels simultaneously. Audio capture is provided through 8 inputs with a single output for playback. RS-485 allows PTZ camera control over the same cabling infrastructure.

Capacity Headroom for Continuous Recording

The 2 TB drive stores several days of 4K footage from eight cameras before overwriting begins. H.265 compression extends that window significantly compared to older codecs. Motion detection across 576 configurable zones reduces unnecessary recording. Holiday scheduling in 10-minute increments further optimises storage use for predictable downtime.

Questions about this item

How do I choose between the 8 coaxial and 8 IP camera inputs?

Use the 8 coaxial ports for TVI, CVI, AHD or analog cameras and add up to 8 IP cameras via the network for a mixed PentaBrid setup.

What does the 4K 8MP rating mean for daily recording?

It records each channel at up to 8 megapixels using H.264 or H.265 compression, so fine detail is kept while storage use stays efficient.

What does the single SATA port limit in practice?

One SATA port caps internal storage at one drive up to 8 TB, so total retention time depends on that single drive's capacity.
