Ultra-thin portable Blu-ray player

The FANTEC external drive reads Blu-ray and HD DVD discs while adding two USB ports, an SD card slot and a TF card slot. It connects through a single USB or USB-C cable with no extra software required. The brushed white case with a silver aluminium top plate measures .7 inches thick and weighs .66 pounds.

Disc compatibility decides fit

This unit handles Blu-ray and HD DVD playback plus CD and DVD burning. It will not read 4K UHD Blu-ray media or write to Blu-ray discs. Buyers who need UHD playback or Blu-ray recording should look elsewhere.

Hub capacity and disc limits

The built-in hub accepts two USB peripherals plus one SD and one TF card simultaneously for quick offloading of photos or video ripped from disc. Burning speed tops out at DVD rates, so large archives take multiple discs and time.

Questions about this item

How does the 0.7-inch thickness affect everyday portability?

At 0.7 inches thick and 0.66 pounds, the drive slides into a laptop sleeve or small bag without adding noticeable bulk, making it practical for travel or moving between desks.

What does the USB interface limit when burning or reading discs?

The USB connection caps maximum transfer speed to the host port's bandwidth, so sustained disc read or write rates will not exceed what that USB link can deliver.

What physical space is needed to set the drive on a desk?

The slim 0.7-inch profile and lightweight 0.66-pound chassis mean it sits stably on any flat surface with only a small footprint, requiring no extra mounting hardware or clearance.
