Compact wired desktop speaker

The Fantech Hellscream GS205 is a wired stereo speaker system built for desktop setups. It connects through a 3.5 mm audio jack and draws power from a USB port. The matte black finish and integrated RGB lighting suit gaming stations and general multimedia use. Each unit measures 91 mm wide, 92 mm high and 84 mm deep.

45 mm drivers with 3 W per channel

Dual 45 mm drivers deliver 3 W output per channel at 85 dB sensitivity. Frequency response spans 150 Hz to 15 kHz with total harmonic distortion rated at 3 percent and 3 ohm impedance. The bass resonance membrane adds low-end presence, while the 360 surround design widens the soundstage for movies and games. Deep sub-bass below 150 Hz and high treble above 15 kHz are not reproduced.

Upgrade from basic monitor or laptop speakers

This set replaces built-in monitor audio or laptop speakers with louder, clearer output and a dedicated volume control. The USB-plus-3.5 mm connection works on any PC or console with those ports. Buyers who need a separate subwoofer, wireless streaming or higher fidelity for critical listening should look at larger multi-piece systems.

Questions about this item

Will the 3.5 mm and USB connections work with my older desktop that only has legacy audio ports?

The speaker uses a 3.5 mm audio jack for sound and a USB plug for power and RGB lighting, so it will work with any desktop that has a standard headphone socket and a spare USB port.

How can I verify the 45 mm drivers are delivering the rated 3 W per channel after I plug it in?

Play audio at a moderate volume; clear output without distortion up to normal listening levels and the RGB lighting staying on confirms the 3 W × 2 channels are operating within the 150 Hz–15 kHz range and 3 % THD spec.

Does the box include both the 3.5 mm audio cable and the USB power cable, or do I need to buy either separately?

The speaker has a fixed 3.5 mm audio lead and a fixed USB lead built in, so everything needed for audio, power and RGB lighting is already attached — no extra cables are required.
