An IP video door phone with PoE, IP65 and IK10 ratings, RFID access, 120° night-vision camera and -40 to 70 °C operation
The Fanvil i31S is an IP-based video door phone built for outdoor entry points in residential or small-business settings. It combines a 120-degree colour night-vision camera with a backlit keypad and RFID reader so visitors can call, enter a code or present a card. Two high-sensitivity microphones with echo cancellation and a 3 W speaker handle noisy environments. Power over Ethernet simplifies wiring.
The unit replaces legacy audio-only door stations or analogue wiring by adding video verification and IP connectivity. The jump is worth it when you need remote door release via SIP platforms such as 3CX, Asterisk, Broadsoft or Elastix and want a single device that handles call, code and card access. Standard IP, RTP and RTSP protocols keep it compatible with existing PBX infrastructure.
The rugged housing meets IP65 dust and water protection and IK10 impact resistance, operating from -40 to 70 °C. An integrated relay drives an electric strike or magnetic lock directly. Triple unlock methods cover most entry scenarios, while the tamper switch alerts the system if the unit is forced. PoE power eliminates a separate supply, though the relay load must stay within the device's electrical limits.

The Fanvil i31S offers a wall-mount model and a buried-wall model as optional mounting choices for installation flexibility.
The unit uses PoE for power and data; the step often missed is ensuring the network switch or injector delivers sufficient PoE power before mounting.
The RFID card reader, backlit keypad, 3 W speaker, dual microphones, night-vision camera, and tamper switch are the field-serviceable parts that may require replacement over time.
