Motor Purpose and Application

The FASCO UB589 is a single-phase shaded-pole unit bearing motor built for HVAC control applications. It delivers continuous duty at 1/250 horsepower and 4 output watts, making it suitable for low-torque blower or fan assemblies in residential or light-commercial equipment.

Critical Electrical Specification

This motor operates on 115V AC at 60 Hz and draws 0.29 A at full load. It is not usable at 200V or 208V, so the supply voltage must match 115V exactly for safe and reliable operation.

Mounting and Environmental Fit

The rear double-foot mounting and totally enclosed air-over enclosure allow direct installation in the intended housing while protecting windings from airflow contaminants. Class B insulation and impedance thermal protection support continuous running in ambient temperatures up to 40 °C.

Questions about this item

What does the 1/250 HP rating mean for airflow in my HVAC unit?

It delivers 4 watts of output at 1,450 RPM, suited for light-duty air movement in small HVAC assemblies.

How does the 115 V AC, 60 Hz supply limit where I can install this motor?

It runs only on standard 115 V, 60 Hz mains; the motor is not usable at 200 V or 208 V.

What clearance do the rear double-foot mounts need inside the cabinet?

The rear double-foot mounting pattern bolts directly to the unit housing; allow space for the foot flange and shaft extending CCW from the lead end.
