Trunk Lid Lift Support

The FCS STRUTS 86373 is a transparent trunk lid lift support designed for automotive use. It assists with opening and holding the trunk lid in place. This part suits vehicle owners replacing worn or failed original equipment. It functions as a direct replacement component.

Installation and Fitment

Installation typically involves removing the old supports and clipping the new units onto existing ball studs. The process requires basic hand tools and minimal mechanical skill. Issues arise if the vehicle's mounting points are corroded or if the ball studs differ from the original specification. Correct alignment prevents binding or premature wear.

Load Capacity and Limits

The support provides lift assistance matched to the original trunk lid weight. It comfortably handles standard daily opening cycles under normal temperatures. Performance drops if the lid is weighed down by added spoilers, heavy sound deadening, or ice accumulation. The unit is not designed for heavier aftermarket lids or modified applications.
