Sit-stand workstation for desk mounting

The Fellowes 8080101 Lotus VE converts a fixed desk into a height-adjustable station for monitors, keyboard and mouse. Its single clamp mounts to the rear edge of most work surfaces without permanent modification. The unit suits home-office workers and corporate hot-desk users who need to alternate posture during the day.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The mechanism operates without motors or fans, so it adds no audible noise or electrical draw to the workspace. Adjustment is a smooth manual lift through 15 inches of vertical travel, keeping the work surface stable at every height. No power supply or cable routing for electronics is required.

Upgrade path and when the jump is worth it

This workstation replaces a static monitor riser or stack of books that lock the screen at one height. The jump is worthwhile when the user spends long sessions at the desk and wants to shift between sitting and standing without leaving the workstation. It is not for buyers who need a freestanding desk frame, integrated power outlets or a worksurface wider than 29 inches.

Questions about this item

How is the single clamp attached to the desk edge and what step is often missed?

The single clamp mounts to the back edge of any work surface; the step often missed is tightening the clamp fully so the 15 inch lift range stays stable.

What part will need replacement after repeated height changes?

The gas-spring lift mechanism that provides the 15 inch vertical adjustment may lose force over time and require replacement.

What weight limit is reached first when the workstation is fully loaded?

The monitor mount accepts up to 20 lb while the total workstation capacity is 25 lb, so the monitor limit is reached first.
