Sit-stand desktop riser

The Fellowes Lotus LT sit-stand workstation converts an existing desk into a height-adjustable station. Gas-spring assistance lets the user move the platform smoothly between sitting and standing positions. The 31.5 inch wide by 24 inch deep top surface holds two monitors or a monitor and laptop together. A device channel on the upper level keeps a phone or small accessories within easy reach.

Fixed-height desk conversion

This unit replaces a static desktop surface by adding 4.4 inches of vertical travel without requiring a new desk frame. The upgrade is worth it when the current desk is otherwise sturdy and large enough to accommodate the 31.5 by 24 inch footprint. Users who already own a suitable desk gain sit-stand flexibility at lower cost and effort than a full replacement. The compact footprint allows installation on most standard work surfaces.

Sustained daily adjustment

Gas-spring mechanics are designed for repeated height changes throughout the workday rather than occasional repositioning. The stable platform supports dual-monitor loads at any height within the 4.4 inch range without wobble during typing or mouse use. Keyboard and mouse remain on the lower level, maintaining ergonomic separation from the screen tier during extended sessions. The structure retains rigidity over continuous sit-stand cycles.

Questions about this item

How much desk surface is needed for the 31.5 by 24 inch footprint of the Lotus 8215001?

The unit sits on a desk area of 31.5 inches wide by 24 inches deep. Ensure the existing surface is at least that large and can support the combined weight of the riser plus your monitors and accessories.

How do I set the gas-spring height adjustment on the Lotus 8215001 and what step is often missed?

Squeeze the side lever while gently lifting or lowering the top platform to the desired level. The step users miss is keeping both hands on the platform during the move so the spring does not snap the surface up or down unexpectedly.

What parts of the Lotus 8215001 may need attention after extended daily height changes?

The gas-spring cylinder and the lever mechanism are the wear items. Periodically check that the lever returns cleanly and that the platform holds position without drifting; if drift appears the spring cylinder will require replacement.
