Flexible Coupling for 1-Inch Pipe

The Fernco 1056-100 connects two sections of 1-inch conduit using a flexible PVC body. It suits installers joining rigid or flexible pipe runs in drainage, vent or low-pressure sewer applications. The coupling slides over pipe ends and seals with two stainless-steel bands. No adhesive or solvent welding is required for assembly.

Pressure and Temperature Limits

The fitting is rated for a maximum internal pressure of 4.3 psi and continuous service up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It meets ASTM D5926 for flexible PVC couplings. The material resists chemicals, fungus growth and normal sewer gases. Ultraviolet resistance allows outdoor exposure without rapid degradation.

Two 300-Series Stainless Bands

Each coupling includes two band clamps made from 300-series stainless steel. They provide the mechanical seal and hold the pipe ends inside the 1-19/64-inch internal diameter. The bands are the only fastening hardware supplied. Installers must ensure pipe outside diameters match the 1-inch nominal size for a watertight joint.

Questions about this item

Which size of the 1056-100 flexible coupling should I select for a 1 inch pipe connection?

The 1056-100 model is sized for 1 in x 1 in pipe, so choose this version when both pipes are 1 inch.

What does the 4.3 psi pressure rating mean when the coupling is installed?

The 4.3 psi maximum pressure indicates the coupling can handle low-pressure drainage or vent lines, not pressurised water supply.

How does the ASTM D5926 standard affect the coupling's performance?

ASTM D5926 certifies the PVC flexible coupling for drain, waste and vent use, confirming chemical, fungus and UV resistance up to 140 degrees F.
