Fervit 90 Degree Left Angled Adapter

This new Fervit adapter is a Cat 5e 8P8C male-to-female connector with a 90 degree left-angled plug. It is built for FTP, STP and UTP patch cords and extends an existing Ethernet cable run. The unshielded RJ45 housing fits standard network ports.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

It suits installers who need a left-angled turn in tight spaces behind desks, panels or rack doors. It is not for buyers who need a right-angled, up-angled or down-angled orientation. It is not for runs that require a shielded connector body. It is not for permanent outdoor or industrial installations.

Deciding specification: 90 degree left angle

The single specification that decides fit is the 90 degree left angle. The plug exits to the left when the tab faces down, so the cable routes along that side of the port. Verify the port orientation on your device before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the left-angled 90 degree plug clear a tight back-panel cut-out?

The left-angled 90 degree 8P8C plug routes the cable parallel to the panel, so it fits behind equipment where a straight connector would hit the chassis.

Which way do I orient the 8P8C male tab when pushing it into the wall jack?

Insert the unshielded 8P8C male tab down until it clicks; forcing it upside-down bends the internal contacts and breaks the latch.

Will the gold contacts on the 8P8C female port need cleaning after a few years?

The unshielded 8P8C female port uses gold-plated contacts that resist oxidation; a quick blast of contact cleaner restores conductivity if dust builds up.
