Purpose and Compatibility

This adapter extends a 2230 E-Key or A+E-Key wireless module to a 2242 form factor. It accepts male connectors on one side and presents a female socket on the other. The PCB is keyed for E-key pinout only and will not function with B-key, M-key or A-key modules. Mini-PCIe cards are also incompatible. The board ships without a wireless card.

Build Integration

The adapter fits between a motherboard M.2 slot and a 2230 wireless card, adding physical length to reach a 2242 mounting point. It requires an available E-key or A+E-key slot wired for the appropriate interface. No additional power connectors or drivers are needed beyond what the host slot provides. The module does not alter the electrical pinout of the connection.

Only the bare PCB adapter is supplied in the package. No mounting screws, thermal pads or cables are included. No software, firmware or configuration utilities are bundled. The wireless card shown in illustrative photos must be purchased separately.
