Fervit Type-C Solder Connector Kit
This pack contains five female USB-C sockets designed for DIY soldering onto printed circuit boards. Each connector replaces a standard Micro-USB 5-pin footprint and supports USB 2.0 data rates up to 480 Mbps. The components are aimed at hobbyists and engineers who are comfortable with manual surface-mount soldering techniques.
DC 5V 2A Power and 480 Mbps Data
When paired with a USB 2.0 host and cable the connector delivers up to 5 volts at 2 amps for charging or peripheral power. The interface complies with the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed specification and falls back to 1.5 Mbps low-speed operation where required. It does not support USB 3.x or USB4 bandwidths, so high-throughput storage or video applications are not served by this part.
Hand-Soldered Installation Required
The through-hole pins demand proficient hand-soldering skill and the board’s existing Micro-USB cutout must be enlarged because the USB-C aperture is smaller. No active cooling, fan or thermal management is involved as the connector is a passive component. Power draw is limited to the connected device and the host’s current limit.

Questions about this item
Will this Type-C female connector work with my existing Micro-USB 5-pin devices that use standard pinout?
The connector replaces a Micro-USB 5-pin female socket and uses standard pinout, so it is compatible with peripherals like cameras, MP3 players and speakers that follow the same layout.
How can I confirm the soldered connector delivers the rated 480Mbps USB 2.0 Hi-Speed data rate?
Connect a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed device to the Type-C port and verify the host reports a 480Mbps link speed; successful enumeration at that rate shows the solder joints and pinout are correct.
The pack contains five connectors — are any cables, solder or mounting hardware included?
Only the five Type-C female solder connectors are supplied; you must provide solder, flux, a soldering iron and any PCB or enclosure modifications yourself.
