DIY USB-A latch cables
This two-pack supplies 10 cm Type-A female sockets with open 2-pin leads for panel or cabinet mounting. Each unit uses a latch mechanism that locks the plug in place, making it suitable for permanent installations. The cables are sold new and require soldering to integrate into a custom power or data path.
Latch mount and open leads
The latch-mount design secures the female port to a chassis cut-out so the connection resists vibration and accidental removal. Open 2-pin tails let the builder solder directly to a PCB, header or power rail without a pre-fitted connector. This arrangement replaces a flying lead with a fixed port that accepts any standard Type-A plug.
5 V 3 A power-only path
The assembly passes DC 5 V at up to 3 A through USB 2.0 conductors, delivering charge or low-power device supply. No data lines are connected, so enumeration, sync or high-speed transfer is not possible. Builders needing data signalling or longer reach must add their own wiring or choose a different cable.

Questions about this item
Will the latch-mount connector loosen or need re-soldering over time?
The latch-mount is designed for a secure cabinet fit, but the open 2-pin ends require your own soldering; any future maintenance depends on the quality of those joints.
What stops the cable from delivering more than 5 V 3 A under continuous load?
The specification lists a maximum throughput of DC 5 V 3 A when paired with a USB 2.0 power source and device, so that rating is the limiting factor.
Does the 10 cm cable get warm when running at 3 A all day?
The supplier notes only the 5 V 3 A throughput rating; no temperature or heat-dissipation data is provided for sustained operation.
