Trigger Cable for Barrel Laptops
This Fervit cable lets you power a laptop that uses a 5.5×2.1 mm DC jack from a USB-C Power Delivery charger. An embedded PD trigger negotiates 18 V or 20 V output, so the barrel tip delivers the voltage the laptop expects. The cable is rated for 65 W or 87 W chargers and is sold new.
Not for 5 V Devices or Undersized Chargers
It suits owners of older ultrabooks or accessories that charge through a 5.5×2.1 mm port at 18 V or 20 V. It will not work with hardware that only accepts 5 V over the same barrel size. Buyers whose USB-C charger cannot supply at least the laptop's required wattage should look at a higher-power adapter instead.
18 V or 20 V Negotiated Output
The single specification that decides fit is the negotiated voltage: the trigger requests 18 V or 20 V from the charger and passes it to the centre-positive barrel plug. If your device needs a different voltage, this cable cannot supply it.

Questions about this item
Should I use a 65 W or 87 W USB-C charger with this cable?
Use a 65 W or 87 W USB-C Power Delivery charger; the charger's rated power must be higher than the laptop's DC input requirement.
What voltage will appear at the 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC plug when the cable is connected?
The cable negotiates 18 V or 20 V from the USB-C charger and passes that voltage to the laptop's DC jack; 5 V is not supported.
Does the USB-C female port on this cable support data or only power delivery?
The USB-C female port is for power input only; it contains a built-in PD trigger to request 18 V or 20 V from the charger.
