Target Use
This Fervit adapter connects a USB-C source device to a Mini DisplayPort display or projector. It supports resolutions up to 4K at 60 Hz, 1440p at 60 Hz and 1080p at 60 Hz depending on the host hardware. Compatible systems include Windows, Mac OS, Android and Chrome OS devices with DP Alt Mode on USB 3.2. It is not for users needing a Mini DisplayPort source to USB-C sink connection.
Passive Operation
The ultra-slim flat cable draws power from the host USB-C port and requires no external supply. It operates silently with no moving parts or active cooling. The adapter handles SST and MST signalling for mirrored, extended or primary display configurations. Signal quality depends on the source device implementation of the DP Alt Mode specification.
Build Integration
The adapter plugs directly into a USB-C port that supports DP Alt Mode and presents a Mini DisplayPort receptacle for the display cable. It frees up HDMI or full-size DisplayPort outputs on the host for additional monitors. Devices lacking DP Alt Mode over USB-C cannot drive video through this adapter. No driver installation is required on supported operating systems.

Questions about this item
How do I install the Fervit USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter, and what is the step people often get wrong?
Plug the USB-C end into a host port that supports DP alt-mode on USB 3.2, then connect a Mini DisplayPort cable from the adapter to the display. The common mistake is using a USB-C port that lacks video output, which gives no signal.
What maintenance or replacement will the Fervit USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter need later?
No scheduled maintenance is required. If the cable jacket frays, the Mini DisplayPort connector loosens, or 4k@60hz video drops out, replace the whole adapter.
What limit appears first on the Fervit USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter under sustained use?
The 4k@60hz ceiling is the first hard limit; the adapter cannot exceed that resolution or refresh rate regardless of how long it runs.
