5/3-way solenoid valve with quick-connect ports for pneumatic control circuits
The Festo CPE18-M1H-5/3ES-QS-8 is a 5/3-way air solenoid valve designed for pneumatic control systems. It carries the manufacturer part number 170256 and is supplied new in a single-unit box. The valve body features a red finish and is built to Festo industrial standards. This component regulates compressed-air flow in automated machinery.
This valve suits engineers and maintenance teams who need a 5/3-function solenoid for existing CPE18-series manifolds. It is not for buyers who require a different port size, a 3/2 or 5/2 function, or a valve series outside the CPE18 range. The component is sold individually without manifold or mounting hardware.
The critical specification is the 5/3-way valve function with solenoid actuation for the CPE18 series. This defines the flow paths and electrical control method. Verify that your manifold and control voltage match this exact configuration before ordering.

Mount the valve on a flat surface using the two through-holes on the 18 mm wide body, then push 8 mm OD tubing straight into each QS-8 port until the collet clicks — the step most installers miss is forgetting to relieve system pressure before inserting tubing, which can seat the collet incompletely.
The internal spool seals and pilot diaphragms are the only wear items; Festo specifies a three-year parts coverage period, so plan to inspect or replace those seals at the three-year mark or sooner if leakage appears at the exhaust ports.
The pilot-exhaust flow capacity becomes the bottleneck first; sustained high-speed cycling starves the pilot chamber, causing slower spool shift before the main coil reaches its thermal limit.
