Removes particles down to 40 µm from compressed air at up to 1100 l/min with fully automatic condensate drain
The Festo MS4N-LF-1/8-EUV is a sinter filter with centrifugal separation designed for compressed air systems. It delivers a standard nominal flow rate of 1100 l/min while removing particles down to 40 µm. The unit operates between 2 bar and 12 bar with a fully automatic condensate drain. It meets ISO 8573-1:2010 air quality class [7:8:4] at the output.
This model replaces filter assemblies that require manual condensate emptying. The automatic drain removes up to 25 ml of condensate without operator intervention, reducing downtime on production lines. The jump is worthwhile when maintenance intervals are missed or when contamination risk from standing water must be eliminated. It also supersedes units without an integrated metal bowl guard.
The filter mounts vertically within a tolerance of +/- 5° and weighs 349 g, fitting into existing MS series preparations. It requires an operating pressure of at least 2 bar and medium temperatures between 5 °C and 60 °C. The integrated bowl guard frees up external shielding space. Storage temperatures from -10 °C to 60 °C allow flexible warehouse conditions.

The filter uses a G 1/8 port and must be mounted vertically within ±5° to ensure proper condensate drainage.
Connect inlet and outlet to the G 1/8 ports, secure the unit vertically, then pressurise slowly; the step often missed is verifying the automatic drain cycles before full operation.
Replace the element at the 3-year parts interval or sooner if flow drops below the 1100 l/min nominal rate, using the integrated metal bowl guard for access.
