Festo 18 mm 5/3 Pressurised Valve

The Festo VSVA-B-P53U-ZH-A2-2AC1 is a 5/3-way pneumatic solenoid valve with a pressurised centre position and overlap lap. It operates on 110 V AC and fits 18 mm wide valve manifolds. An integrated LED shows signal status while the soft-sealing piston gate design allows reversible flow direction.

Capacity and Headroom

Standard nominal flow reaches 450 l/min with a pneumatic flow rate of 650 l/min at 5 mm nominal width. The valve handles operating pressures from -0.9 bar to 10 bar and requires external pilot supply between 3 bar and 10 bar. Ambient and medium temperatures are rated -5 °C to 50 °C with relative humidity up to 90 %.

Upgrade From 5/2 or 3/2 Valves

This unit replaces simpler 5/2 or 3/2 valves when a pressurised mid-position is needed to hold actuator pressure during power loss. The jump is worth it for circuits requiring overlap lap to prevent cross-talk between ports. It does not suit applications needing a closed-centre or exhaust-centre 5/3 function, nor systems limited to internal pilot supply.
