1.25G SFP Transceiver for Multi-Mode Fibre

This 1.25G SFP transceiver operates at 850nm wavelength with a duplex LC connector. It is designed for network administrators deploying Gigabit Ethernet or 1GFC links over multi-mode fibre. The module supports link distances of 275m over OM1 fibre and 550m over OM2 fibre. Buyers needing single-mode reach or longer distances cannot use this transceiver.

Hot-pluggable installation

The transceiver is hot-pluggable and uses a single 3.3V power supply, allowing insertion without powering down the switch. A 2-wire management interface compliant with SFF-8472 provides diagnostic monitoring. Before ordering, you must supply the host equipment brand and model so the correct vendor coding can be programmed; modules without proper coding will not link in many managed switches.

Multi-mode distance limits and MSA compliance

The 850nm VCSEL transmitter limits practical reach to 550m on OM2 and 275m on OM1 multi-mode fibre. The module complies with INF-8074i SFP MSA, IEEE 802.3z and Fiber Channel 100-M5-SN-I standards. It cannot support 10km, 20km or other extended ranges listed in single-mode variants; those require different wavelengths and fibre types.
