  • Unbreakable Polycarbonite material handles rough use
  • Fits any Rapid-Release tripod platform
  • Works with PhotoPOD and BinoPOD Steady Sticks

Quick-Release Mounting Adapter

The Field Optics Research PhotoPOD Camera Adapter 20 connects a camera to BinoPod, MiniTripod or any Rapid-Release tripod platform. It uses a standard 1/4-inch threaded bolt with a thumbscrew for tool-free attachment. The adapter suits photographers who need fast transitions between handheld and supported shooting.

Unbreakable Polycarbonite Construction

Moulded from Unbreakable Polycarbonite material, the adapter resists impact and wear during field use. No moving parts or electronics mean silent operation and zero power draw. The simple mechanical design adds negligible weight to a tripod setup.

Rapid-Release Ecosystem Compatibility

The plate works with all Rapid-Release mounting platforms including BinoPod and MiniTripod. This cross-compatibility lets one adapter serve multiple support devices without extra plates. Buyers needing a proprietary quick-release system from another brand cannot use this adapter.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the PhotoPOD Camera Adapter 20 to my tripod, and what step do people often miss?

Screw the adapter onto the 1/4-20 tripod thread and tighten the thumbscrew fully; the missed step is not securing the thumbscrew, which lets the plate rotate under load.

What part of the PhotoPOD Camera Adapter 20 will need replacement after extended outdoor use?

The thumbscrew threads can wear or corrode over time; the polycarbonite body itself is unbreakable and does not degrade.

What is the first limitation I will hit when using the PhotoPOD Camera Adapter 20 on long hikes with a heavy mirrorless rig?

The single 1/4-20 connection point limits stability with heavier lenses, so flex appears before the adapter material fails.
