A dynamic podcast microphone kit with USB and XLR outputs, a boom arm, tap-to-mute and real-time monitoring
The FIFINE K688CT combines USB and XLR outputs in a single dynamic capsule, letting creators plug straight into a computer or route through an external mixer. A cardioid pattern rejects off-axis sound while the 130 dB SPL handling keeps loud sources clean. Supplied boom arm supports devices up to 2 kg for stable desktop positioning.
Dynamic operation requires no phantom power, so the microphone draws only USB bus current when used in digital mode. Self-noise measures 58 dB sensitivity with an 80 dB signal-to-noise ratio, keeping the floor quiet during spoken-word sessions. Tap-to-mute and gain knob provide instant level control without software latency.
Built-in headphone jack enables zero-latency monitoring with a dedicated volume knob for real-time mix adjustments. The all-metal boom arm clamps to desks and articulates without spring noise, while the included shock mount isolates the capsule from desk vibrations. No extra drivers or RGB software are required.

Clamp the arm base to a desk edge up to the thickness allowed by the clamp, then tighten both knobs fully; the step people miss is securing the cable-management clips so the USB/XLR cable cannot pull on the mic capsule.
The foam windscreen compresses over time and should be swapped when it no longer springs back, and the boom-arm tension springs may lose stiffness after heavy daily adjustment.
The capsule handles up to 130 dB SPL before distortion appears, so normal vocal peaks stay well within clean headroom.
