A portable Bluetooth 5.1 headphone amplifier with USB DAC decoding up to 384 kHz and native DSD256, plus 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm outputs delivering 340 mW
The FiiO BTR15 is a portable headphone amplifier that adds Bluetooth 5.1 reception and USB DAC functions to any wired headphone. It targets listeners who want high-resolution wireless audio from a smartphone, laptop or desktop without carrying a larger desktop stack. The unit also works as a wired USB DAC for PC or mobile use.
The QCC5125 chipset maintains stable Bluetooth 5.1 links with support for LDAC up to 96 kHz and aptX Adaptive during long listening sessions. As a USB DAC the XMOS XUF316 controller handles asynchronous 384 kHz PCM and native DSD256 streams without dropping samples. An independent amplifier power supply raises continuous output to 340 mW, a 40 % increase over the previous design, so demanding loads stay controlled over hours of playback.
A 3.5 mm single-ended jack and a 4.4 mm balanced jack sit side by side, letting you swap headphones without adapters. An OLED display shows codec, sample rate and volume at a glance. One button cycles between Bluetooth, USB and phone-call modes while the FiiO Music app provides parametric EQ adjustments that persist across all three operating modes.

The BTR15 has no fan and uses a low-noise independent power supply, so it runs silently and stays cool during extended Bluetooth 5.1 streaming sessions.
You need headphones or an interconnect cable with a 3.5 mm single-ended plug or a 4.4 mm balanced plug; both outputs are on the device itself.
Yes, the XMOS XUF316 chip supports USB Audio Class 2.0 and works over standard USB 2.0 connections for up to 384 kHz PCM and native DSD256 decoding.
