Surface protection film for sensitive finishes

This self-adhesive PE film shields glass, anodised metal and plastic from dirt, chemicals, moisture and mechanical damage during work. It is supplied in a .97 in by 109 yds roll for covering large areas quickly. The transparent material lets you inspect the surface underneath without lifting the film. Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.

UV resistance and clean removal

The acrylic adhesive is formulated to resist ageing and UV exposure for up to four weeks outdoors. It releases cleanly without leaving residue on the protected surface. The film handles moisture and a range of chemicals while staying in place during normal use. No special tools are required for application or removal.

Four-week outdoor exposure limit

The tape is rated for a maximum of four weeks of continuous outdoor UV exposure before removal is recommended. Projects that require longer protection will need a different solution. Buyers needing extended weathering performance should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I apply the 4848 PV1 film without trapping air bubbles?

Unroll the .97 in wide film slowly onto the clean, dry surface, pressing firmly with a squeegee or lint-free cloth from the centre outwards to push air ahead of the roll.

When must the 4848 PV1 film be replaced?

The UV-resistant acrylic adhesive is rated for four weeks outdoors; remove and replace the film before that period ends to avoid adhesive residue on glass, eloxal or plastic.

What fails first if the 4848 PV1 film stays on longer than four weeks?

The age-resistant acrylic adhesive begins to bond permanently, making clean removal difficult and risking residue on the protected surface.
