Professional Light Stand with Red Collar
The Flashpoint 9.5' air-cushioned stand is built from lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium and ships in a padded case. Its three-section column extends from 41.1" to 9.5' using large, comfortable twist-lock knobs. A reversible 1/4"-20 or 3/8" screw on a 5/8" stud accepts flashes, LED panels, softboxes and phone clamps. Rubber-tipped legs add stability on uneven floors.
Air Cushioning Limits Sudden Drops
The internal air cushion slows the column descent when a section lock is released, protecting mounted gear from impact. It does not eliminate the need to support the load while loosening a knob, and it cannot compensate for an unbalanced top-heavy modifier. The mechanism relies on sealed air pressure, so performance remains consistent across temperature changes but the cushion force itself is not adjustable.
9.5' Maximum Height Decides Reach
At full extension the stand reaches 9.5', which determines the highest key-light position available for standing subjects or overhead rigs. If the shooting space has a lower ceiling or the setup demands a taller boom, this height ceiling becomes the limiting factor. The minimum folded height of 41.1" also dictates the shortest working level and the storage footprint.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the 9.5' stand or a shorter model for studio work?
The 9.5' maximum height suits high-angle lighting and full-length portraits; the 41.1" minimum still allows low-key setups, so this single stand covers both ranges.
What does the 9.5' height mean when I set the stand on a real floor?
At full extension the mounting stud reaches 9.5 feet above the ground, giving ample clearance for overhead softboxes or boom arms without needing a ladder.
How does the reversible 1/4"-20 and 3/8" screw on the 5/8" stud affect what I can mount?
The dual-thread stud accepts both 1/4"-20 and 3/8" devices — speedlights, LED panels, phone clamps or softboxes — and the 5/8" base fits standard light-stand spigots.
