Bowens Mount Adapter for XPLOR Strobes
This adapter connects Flashpoint XPLOR 300 PRO and 400 PRO strobes to Bowens S-Type light modifiers. It is built from polycarbonate and aluminium for repeated studio or location use. Photographers who need to expand their modifier library without changing strobe systems will find it useful. It is not for owners of strobes that already use a native Bowens mount.
Passive Mechanical Accessory
The adapter weighs 5.7 oz (162 g) and adds no electrical load, fan noise or heat to the strobe. It mounts directly to the flash head and remains cool during extended shooting sessions. Because it has no active components, power draw and thermal behaviour are unchanged. Users who need active cooling or electronic communication should look elsewhere.
Included Hardware and Compatibility Notes
The box contains the adapter, mounting screws and an Allen key for installation. XPLOR 400 PRO units ship with this adapter as standard. XPLOR 300 PRO owners must purchase the separate AD-AB Adapter Ring to use it. Photographers requiring Profoto, Elinchrom or Broncolor mounts need the dedicated adapters sold separately.

Questions about this item
How do I attach the Bowens Mount Adapter to my XPLOR 400 PRO and what step is often missed?
Screw the included adapter onto the strobe head using the supplied Allen key; the step people skip is fully tightening the three locking screws so the modifier cannot rotate under its own weight.
What maintenance will this adapter need over time?
Periodically check the three locking screws and Allen key fit; wipe the polycarbonate and aluminum surfaces with a dry cloth and re-tighten any hardware that has loosened from repeated modifier changes.
What is the first limitation I will hit when using heavy Bowens modifiers on this adapter for long sessions?
The 5.7 oz polycarbonate and aluminum construction can flex if a large softbox is cantilevered far from the strobe, so keep the modifier centred and supported to avoid misalignment.
