Compact Vintage-Style Flash

The Flashpoint FlashBack Senior On-Camera Flash in pink is a modern reincarnation of a classic 1972 automatic speedlight with a 1930s reflector design. It collapses into a 5 x 2.5 x 2 inch clam shell for easy transport and expands into a full-size unit. Photographers seeking a distinctive, portable light source with retro aesthetics will appreciate its unique fan-shaped silver dish reflector.

Guide Number 46ft at ISO 100

The flash delivers a guide number of 46 feet or 14 metres at ISO 100, providing ample power for low-light scenarios and general on-camera use. Its non-TTL automation relies on a sensor on the flash body to determine exposure. The fixed output and manual automation mean it suits controlled lighting needs but will not satisfy photographers who require TTL metering, high-speed sync, or wireless radio control.

Universal Single-Pin Hot Shoe

A single-pin hot shoe trigger ensures compatibility with a wide array of modern and vintage cameras, including models with live hot shoes or old-school sync posts. No dedicated TTL pins or proprietary connections are present, so the unit works across brands without electronic communication. Buyers needing multi-flash wireless systems, modelling lights, or bounce-card versatility should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the single-pin hot shoe trigger work with my vintage Leica or Exacta camera?

Yes, the single-pin hot shoe trigger is designed for universal compatibility and works with vintage models like Leica, Exacta, Contax, Konica, Linhof, and others, as well as modern brands with live hot shoes or sync posts.

How can I verify the guide number of 46ft / 14m @ISO 100 is performing correctly after setup?

Take a test shot at ISO 100; the non-TTL automation uses a sensor on the flash body for exposure. If the subject is properly illuminated at the rated distance, the unit is working as intended.

Does the package include the 9-blade silver dish reflector or must it be purchased separately?

The unique fan-shaped, 9-blade silver dish reflector is built into the unit and included. The flash opens from a compact clam shell into its full-size form with the reflector already attached.
