Empty Saddle Sandbag for Light Stands

The Flashpoint Empty Saddle Sandbag is a water-resistant Cordura nylon counterweight designed for photographers and videographers who need stable light stands, boom arms or background supports on location or in the studio. Its saddle shape drapes over equipment for a balanced hold that resists accidental tipping.

27 lb Fill Capacity and Material Options

The bag accepts up to 27 lb of sand, soil, rocks or other dense media so you can match the weight to each specific setup. Because it ships empty, you avoid shipping heavy filler and can source the exact material that suits the shoot environment.

Cordura Nylon Shell with 1.5" Handle

The water-resistant Cordura nylon exterior protects the fill from moisture and abrasion during outdoor use. A 1.5" wide handle and double-zipper closure make carrying and securing the contents straightforward during frequent repositioning.

Questions about this item

Will the 1.5" handle on this sandbag fit over the crossbar of my older C-stand?

The 1.5" wide handle is designed for comfortable carrying and drapes over light stands and boom arms, so it should fit most standard crossbars.

How do I verify the double-zipper closure is secure once the bag is filled to 27 lb?

Fill the bag with your chosen material, close both zippers fully, and lift by the handle; the zippers should stay shut and the Cordura nylon should show no strain.

Does the box include sand or filler material, or must I source the 27 lb of weight myself?

The sandbag ships empty; you supply sand, soil, rocks or other filler to reach the desired weight up to 27 lb.
