Universal Hot Shoe Adapter

The Flashpoint Universal Hot Shoe Adapter provides a PC sync connection for cameras that lack a built-in port. It fits standard hot shoes on Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Panasonic, Samsung, and Olympus systems. Newer Sony models with Multi Interface Shoes and older Sony/Minolta-type shoes are not supported. The adapter weighs .7 oz (19 g).

Build Integration

This adapter slots into the camera hot shoe and accepts a PC sync cable from a studio flash or trigger. It adds no batteries or electronics, so it draws no power and requires no firmware. The lightweight alloy body keeps the camera balance unchanged during handheld or tripod work.

Capacity and Headroom

The single PC terminal handles standard sync voltages found on most studio packs and monolights. It cannot transmit TTL data, high-speed sync signals, or wireless protocols. Photographers needing multi-pin communication or proprietary Sony interfaces will require a different solution.

Questions about this item

Will the hot-shoe adapter overheat or draw power during long studio sessions?

The adapter is a passive mechanical connector with no electronics, so it generates no heat and consumes no power during extended use.

What camera hot-shoe type must I already have for this adapter to fit?

It requires a standard ISO hot shoe; it will not fit newer Sony Multi Interface Shoes or older Sony/Minolta-type shoes.
