Portable 600 Ws flash bundle

The Flashpoint XPLOR 600 R2 is a battery-powered monolight delivering 600 Ws output with a guide number of 183 ft at ISO 100. It runs on an 11.1 V 8700 mAh lithium-ion battery rated for over 450 full-power flashes per charge. The kit includes a 25-inch Glow EZ Lock silver beauty dish for soft, directional light. Photographers gain studio-grade illumination without mains power or generators.

High-speed sync and radio limits

Built-in 2.4 GHz R2 radio enables wireless control across compatible Canon and Nikon systems plus other Flashpoint R2 gear. High-speed sync lets you shoot beyond the camera’s normal sync speed, though maximum shutter performance depends on the specific camera body used. The Bowens S-type mount accepts a wide range of modifiers, but the unit does not offer TTL automation. Firmware upgrades add future camera support.

Upgrade from tethered strobes

This monolight replaces AC-only studio strobes and lower-output speedlights for location work where mains power is unavailable. The jump is worth it when you need 600 Ws of cordless power with modelling light and stroboscopic modes in a single package. Photographers who require TTL metering or more than 1200 Ws with extension heads should consider other solutions.

How does the built-in 2.4 GHz R2 radio system limit wireless control?

The integrated 2.4 GHz R2 receiver works with Flashpoint R2 remotes for Canon, Nikon and other supported systems, enabling wireless power adjustment, high-speed sync and group control up to the radio's reliable range.
