Powerful TTL Speedlight for Sony

The Flashpoint Zoom Li-on III R2 delivers a guide number of 197ft or 60m at ISO 100 and 200mm zoom, providing strong illumination for diverse shooting scenarios. It operates as a full TTL transmitter or receiver within the Flashpoint R2 system and includes auto-sensing receiver modes for multiple camera brands. A built-in 2W modeling lamp assists with subject preview and focus.

Quick shoe mount with Li-Ion power

The unit slides onto a standard Sony multi-interface hot shoe and draws power from an integrated Li-Ion Polymer battery. This pack enables a full-power recycle time of fewer than 1.5 seconds and yields approximately 450 full-power flashes per charge. The Quick Switch button toggles instantly between Manual and TTL modes, while the TCM function converts metered exposure to TTL settings for faster workflow.

Verify Sony TTL and R2 compatibility

Confirm your Sony body supports TTL flash metering and the specific R2 radio protocol used for wireless commander or receiver functions. The flash head zooms to 200mm, so check that this coverage matches your typical focal lengths. Ensure you have a method to charge the proprietary Li-Ion pack, as it is not replaceable with standard AA cells. Buyers needing a user-swappable battery system or support for non-Sony TTL commander modes should consider other options.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the flash is delivering its rated 60 m guide number at ISO 100 after setup?

Fire a test shot at 200 mm zoom, ISO 100 and measure the exposure at the rated distance; consistent output matching the 60 m specification shows the unit is working as intended.

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately?

The speedlight ships with its integrated Li-Ion Polymer battery and built-in R2 radio transceiver; any light modifiers, additional batteries or external chargers are sold separately.

Which version of the Zoom Li-on III R2 should I choose for Sony TTL and cross-brand receiver use?

This single Sony-dedicated model provides full Sony TTL, High Speed Sync and exposure compensation plus auto-sensing receiver modes for Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Olympus, Fujifilm and Pentax systems.
