What this charger replaces

A 65 W USB-C power adapter built as a direct replacement for the original Lenovo ADLX65YDC2A and related part numbers. It supports ThinkPad T480s, T580s, T490, E480, E580, Yoga C930, C940, 720 and Chromebook C330, S330, 100e, 300e, 500e models that charge through a USB-C port.

What the bundle adds

The package includes the adapter itself and a detachable AC power cord, so you can plug into any standard wall outlet without hunting for a separate cable. Having both pieces in one box lets you keep a spare at the office, one at home and another in a travel bag for continuous coverage.

Where USB-C power stops

The unit delivers up to 65 W and negotiates down to 45 W for compatible devices, but it cannot supply higher wattages required by larger workstations or gaming laptops. It also lacks any video or data pass-through, so it functions solely as a power source and not as a docking or display adapter.

Questions about this item

Will the USB-C cable or AC power cord need replacing over time?

The charger ships with a detachable AC power cord and an integrated USB-C output cable; either can be swapped independently if the connector wears or the cable sheath frays after repeated coiling.

What limits continuous output when the adapter runs at 65 W for hours?

The unit is rated for a maximum of 65 W; sustained loads at that level will hit the thermal ceiling of the internal switching components before any current limit triggers.

How much heat and fan noise does the 65 W adapter produce on a desk all day?

The adapter is passively cooled with no fan, so it runs silent; the enclosure warms to a noticeable but safe temperature when delivering 65 W continuously.
