Extended carpet protection

This Floortex Ultimat chair mat covers a 60 x 79 inch area of carpeted floor. The clear polycarbonate surface shields pile from caster wear and heavy foot traffic. It is designed for office or home workstations that need a large, rectangular shield.

Rigid surface under continuous use

The 0.09 inch thick polycarbonate sheet keeps its flat shape without curling, cupping or dimpling when a rolling chair moves across it day after day. Impact strength is twice that of vinyl, so the surface stays smooth and the glide remains consistent over time. Heat resistance to 100 °C means under-floor heating does not affect performance.

Gripper back and straight edge

A textured gripper backing holds the mat firmly on all pile carpets, preventing drift during daily use. The straight-edge perimeter leaves a clean line against walls or desk legs. The material contains no phthalates, tin, lead or cadmium and carries Greenguard certification for low emissions.

Questions about this item

How much heat can the 0.09" polycarbonate surface withstand before it deforms?

The mat is heat-resistant up to 100°C (212°F) and is compatible with underfloor heating systems, so it will not curl or cup under normal operating temperatures.

What floor covering must be in place for the gripper backing to work?

The gripper back is designed to grip into carpet pile for stability; the manufacturer states the mat is not suitable for hard floor applications such as wood, tile, or laminate.

Will the 60 x 79 inch sheet stay flat on top of an older carpet that has developed ripples?

The polycarbonate material lies instantly flat from delivery and will not sink, crack, or curl, providing a rigid surface that bridges minor carpet imperfections for smooth rolling.
