Hard-floor chair mat

The Floortex 1213419ER is a rectangular polycarbonate chair mat measuring 35 x 47 inches. It protects hard floors from caster wear while giving the user a smooth, low-friction glide surface. The clear material lets the flooring show through for a discreet look in home or office settings. It is intended for anyone who rolls a chair on hard surfaces and wants durable, flat protection.

Build integration

The mat lies flat immediately on delivery with no curl or settling time required. Its smooth back grips hard floors and carpet tiles without adhesive, freeing the user from tape or anchors. Polycarbonate construction avoids the chemical reaction that vinyl can have with varnished or lacquered wood. The mat is also compatible with under-floor heating systems up to the manufacturer's stated limits.

Capacity and headroom

At 0.075 inches thick the mat provides a rigid platform that resists cracking, curling, dimpling and yellowing under normal use. It supports standard office chair casters without sinking and handles daily rolling traffic in typical workspaces. The polycarbonate sheet is not rated for heavy point loads such as safes or machinery, and it is not suitable for use on piled carpet.

Questions about this item

How much dimensional change can I expect from the 35" x 47" mat under sustained use?

The manufacturer specifies a ±5 % size tolerance from the manufacturing process, so the mat may vary slightly from the nominal 35" x 47" dimensions.

Does the 0.08" thick polycarbonate surface generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day rolling?

The mat is a passive polycarbonate sheet with no moving parts, so it produces no noise and does not generate heat under continuous chair movement.

What floor type must I already have for this 35" x 47" mat to work as intended?

The smooth backing is designed for hard floors and carpet tiles only; it is not suitable for use on pile carpet.
