Replacement Bulb for FC4900 Units

This 15 watt ultraviolet bulb replaces the lamp in Flowtron FC4900 insect control devices. The straight tube measures 17 3/4 inches in length and fits the designated fixture directly. Each package contains two bulbs for convenient spare stock. Homeowners and facility managers use these to maintain continuous bug control operation.

Low Heat Output During Operation

The 15 watt rating keeps power draw modest while the ultraviolet lamp runs. Neoprene and HAWA materials handle normal operating temperatures without excessive heat buildup. Noise is minimal because the bulb has no moving parts or cooling fans. The simple design supports reliable performance in standard bug killer housings.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 15 W blacklight bulb in the FC4900 unit, and what step do people often miss?

Switch off power, remove the old straight tube, insert the new 17 3/4 in bulb by aligning both pins, then rotate until it locks; the step most users skip is confirming the retaining clips snap fully into the 15/16 in sockets.

What maintenance or replacement will the BF205 two-pack need later?

Each 15 W ultraviolet tube lasts roughly one season of continuous use; when light output drops and insects stop being attracted, replace both bulbs together to keep the bug killer effective.
