Ortofon OM 10 and Ri71 Speaker Upgrade

The OM 10 cartridge traces grooves with an elliptical diamond for improved linearity, higher channel separation and reduced distortion, while the Ri71 speakers add a built-in 120W amplifier and Air Motion Transformer tweeters with a waveguide for wider off-axis dispersion.

Home Listeners Seeking All-in-One Simplicity

This package suits buyers who want a single-box solution with matched components and no separate amplifier purchase; it does not suit users who already own amplification, prefer passive speakers, or need digital inputs and wireless streaming.

Questions about this item

When should I replace the Ortofon OM 10 cartridge on this RT82 turntable?

Replace the OM 10 cartridge when you hear increased sibilance, tracking issues, or notice visible tip wear on the elliptical diamond stylus.

What limits the RT82 turntable during extended listening sessions?

The belt-drive motor maintains precise speed control continuously, so the first limit is usually the PA10 preamp or Ri71 amplifier thermal protection if driven at maximum output for long periods.

How much heat and noise do the Ri71 speakers produce when running all day?

The Ri71 speakers use a 120W integrated amplifier with AMT tweeters that run cool at moderate levels; at high volume the cabinets warm slightly and the amplifier fan may become audible in a quiet room.
