Pure analog vinyl playback

The Fluance RT84 turntable delivers a warm, uncompressed listening experience for discerning vinyl enthusiasts. An Ortofon 2M Blue nude elliptical cartridge provides high-resolution sound with improved linearity and channel separation. No electronics sit in the signal path from stylus tip to gold-plated RCA outputs. A precision servo-controlled belt-drive motor maintains consistent platter velocity.

Build integration and isolation

A high-mass MDF wood plinth with real wood finish provides a stable foundation that suppresses unwanted resonance. Adjustable resonance damping feet isolate the turntable from micro-vibrations in the surrounding environment. The decoupled motor prevents drive vibrations from reaching the stylus. A balanced S-shaped tonearm ensures accurate groove tracking without additional electronics.

Cartridge performance and limits

The included Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge reproduces detailed dynamics with a flat frequency response and reduced distortion. Speed control regulates linear velocity within a few hundredths of a percent at 0.07% wow and flutter. The turntable weighs 14.99 lbs, requiring a sturdy, level surface for optimal performance. A phono preamp is not included and must be supplied separately for system integration.

Questions about this item

How much wow and flutter does the RT84T produce when playing records continuously?

The servo-controlled belt-drive motor with optical speed sensor holds wow and flutter to 0.07% during sustained playback.

What audible noise or vibration reaches the stylus when the motor runs all day?

The motor is decoupled from the plinth, suppressing mechanical vibration and noise from reaching the cartridge during extended sessions.

Which phono preamp must I already own to connect the turntable to my amplifier?

The gold-plated RCA outputs deliver a phono-level signal, so an external phono preamp or a receiver with a dedicated phono input is required.
