Temperature range and headroom

The probe measures from -40 degrees to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, which is -40 degrees to 260 degrees Celsius. It comfortably covers HVAC diagnostics, automotive exhaust checks and electronic component testing. Above 500 degrees Fahrenheit the Type K wire reaches its specified limit and accuracy cannot be assured. The small 5/32 in bead offers quick thermal response but limited mechanical protection.

Type K interface limits
