Singlemode Launch Cord 160 m

This Fluke SMC9LCLCM is a 160 metre singlemode fibre launch cable terminated with LC metal connectors. It is built for technicians who need a reference lead when testing long-haul links with an OTDR or loss test set. The cord supports wavelengths of 850, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550 and 1625 nanometres.

Replaces Shorter Reference Leads

A 160 metre length covers the dead zone on extended singlemode spans where shorter cords leave the first events unmeasured. The upgrade is worth it when certifying links beyond 100 metres or when the test specification calls for a launch fibre matching the 9 micron core of the installed plant. It does not suit multimode applications or patching between active equipment.

LC Metal Connectors Install Easily

The metal LC ferrules mate with standard LC adapters on test ports and patch panels without special tools. Clean the end faces before every connection to avoid contamination that raises insertion loss. The cable jacket is not rated for direct burial or aerial lashing, so protect it in harsh environments.
